THEIR STORY

On 15th January 2022, Lance Carmen and his best friend Trevor Wachowski were listening to music in Lance’s room late at night. As they stared at the ceiling, Lance turned to face Trevor and said that the two should start a band. The following Monday they decided to recruit their friends Peter Courtauld and Jacob Mahoney to form a band, calling it 4 Boys More Noise, initially being interested in music of the rock genre. The four would practice in the school music rooms every Wednesday for fun. After a few weeks the boys caught the attention of their Head of Music, Mr. McElron, and he suggested to them that they should play in an assembly in front of the entire school. A few weeks later they performed ‘Say It Ain’t So’ by Weezer to the school and received a standing ovation from their peers. From then on, they decided to pursue performing music as a career; they started doing local gigs at bars and small venues, building up a following of over a thousand people on their Instagram. Eventually changing their name to 2kN4 as an ode to those who had come before.
It wasn’t until 2023 that the boys had their big break after their audition for Britain’s Got Talent was broadcast to the British public. The viewers instantly fell in love with the charm of them all. You couldn’t walk down the street without overhearing people discussing their favourite member. In their audition they performed the song, ‘Time to Pretend’ by MGMT, receiving the Golden Buzzer from Simon Cowell. To appeal to the mainstream and the audience of the show, the band shifted more towards pop music. In the live semi-finals, the boys decided to sing an original song called ‘In Our Future’, which ended up being included in their debut album. The song was a story about growing up with someone else by your side when times get tough; audiences resonated deeply with it once again giving the band a standing ovation. They once again made it through to the next round, competing in the finals against now big names like Axel Blake and Tom Ball. They performed another original song called ‘Hear Me Now’, creating an incredible spectacle as the crowd stood up from their seats during the performance and sung along with the band. As judges Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon were brought to tears and Simon Cowell “Hadn’t felt such a wave of confidence and talent for over 20 years” they naturally won the competition and were now Britain’s biggest stars.
The boys’ lives were now forever changed, no longer attending their school in favour of learning in portable classrooms while on the go. They did talk shows, appeared in magazines, and performed at festivals, gaining a massive fandom that spread overseas to the US and beyond, which TikTok cleverly coined as the N4cers (pronounced ‘enforcers’). It wasn’t long until they released their debut album ‘We are 2kN4’ on 17th November 2023. The album included their two highly popular songs that they performed on Britain’s Got Talent as well as 6 others, including Number 1 chart toppers 'Caffeine' and 'Made for Loving You'.

The band did their first UK Tour in early 2024, selling out at every show they did. They only visited a handful of venues across the UK, but it gave them an idea of how much demand there was to see them play live. They branched out in the summer, performing in the US on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and the Kelly Clarkson show before their US tour, titled ‘The Rootin’-Tootin’ 2kN4 Tour’. They travelled the US for months, performing in different states with featured acts such as Bruno Mars and the Jonas Brothers before returning back to the UK.

Later that year, the boys decided to dip their toes into the world of Christmas music to try to get a Christmas Number 1. On 3rd November, 'A Very 2kN4 Christmas' was released, selling over 83,000 copies in it's first week. Their single 'My Wishlist' topped the UK charts for 4 weeks and 6 weeks in the US. With now fan favourite songs like 'Christmas Boyz', 'The Meaning of Christmas', and 'Winter Loving' it was impossible for the album not to be a great success.

Coming off from the high of 'A Very 2kN4 Christmas' the band was very keen to make a jump back into their home turf of fun, charming pop music. For months they worked to create the best album they could to follow up their previous releases. While they were working on this album they did various shows around the world as well as appearing on more talk shows. By the time the album was finished, they had become a household name.

'After a While, Crocodile' was released on 6th August 2025 and was 2kN4's biggest success yet, going triple platinum. N4cers on apps like TikTok and Instagram were posting thousands of videos per day using songs from the album. The band's single 'I Want It That Way' was an incredible success, garnering over 300 million views on YouTube and over 550 million streams on Spotify as of 15/11/25.
The only natural next step after releasing music and going on tour is to make a film. '2kN4 The Real Thing' is the band's film debut, consisting of performances from all over the world as well as never before seen behind the scenes footage. The film is available on DVD and Blu-ray and is perfect for N4cers.
Since then the boys have been doing shows all over the globe and working on their next album, set to release in the summer of 2026.
